So you don’t want to be a part of the show. You want to just be a guest star on the show?
 Yeah. Well, you know, I’ve been lucky enough to meet Mariska Hargitay. She’s so great and cool. And I always wanted to play a character like that on TV where you get to like really quietly lean in and say, “You can’t hurt those little girls anymore.” Don’t you wish you could do that? Don’t you wish you can play like a badass on TV?


If you were physically incapacitated and could watch only one show for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Law & Order. I panic that there will be a time when it isn’t on TV. When I’m not in New York it makes me miss New York. I think about all the people angry that their streets are being closed off [cackles]. And I feel like Jerry Orbach might be someone that I will get to meet in Heaven. 


If you could step into the character of any of your fellow lead actress nominees, comedy or drama, who would it be and why?
Mariska Hargitay from “Law & Order: SVU.” First of all, I would just like to step into Mariska’s body. She and (co-star Christopher) Meloni were shooting in New York the other day and I waddled past them, all pregnant, and they looked so badass. Mariska had a badass, well-tailored pantsuit on with a very visible gun. I want to wear a very tight pantsuit with a visible gun and lean over, and whisper in a perp’s face, “You aren’t allowed to hurt those little girls anymore.” That’s what I want to do. I really want to rough up a perp.
